West Lancs Cricket Development Group Women and Girls completed a historic tour to Spain, bringing home two trophies from the event to Lancashire.
WLCDG entered two sides into the inaugural Granada Sixes completion, with the Warriors overcoming North London Women in the final of the women’s competition.
They also played Madrid and Granada women during the tournament, as well as WLCDG’s other competing team, the Warriors.
The Warriors also won silverware, triumphing in the Plate final, which was held between the two losing semi finalists.
WLCDG were able to bring out a playing group of 28 players and support staff for the event, which was held in the southern city of Granada.
The tour was organised to help with the continued development of women’s cricket in West Lancashire, giving players from across the region a unique chance to compete in an international tournament.
The touring squad enjoyed cultural experiences including training and four days of matches.
They flew back to Lancs with two cups in their luggage and a host of individual awards.
Thank you to everyone who made the trip possible.
